Learning Cafe - Session 01: On the Three Vertices of Higher Education
Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) invited Prof. Dr. Syed Nomanul Haq, currently working as Dean of the Institute of Liberal Arts and Adviser to President Ibrahim on the Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Management and Technology on “On the Three Vertices of Higher Education”. Dr. Syed Nomanul Haq talks about what he calls the three vertices of higher education. Imagined graphically as an equilateral triangle, where any side can serve as the base and any vertex as the apex, the three vertices embody the substantive aspect of higher education, the intellectual aspect, and the cultural-moral-social aspect. He addresses particularly the urgent humanistic and pedagogical issues that have been thrown into sharp perspective by the Covid-19 pandemic.
